Website Guru

May 25, 2010

I want to thank Ricki Lee Towner for her help creating my new blog site.  I had a vision of using a blog as the face of my website and she helped bring it to fruition.  She was great to work with and had excellent ideas.  She currently works at the Daily Record in their Web/It Production office but she is open to taking on more projects like mine.  Her contact info is Ricki Lee Towner, phone 509-929-4094 and email info@rickitowner.com.

Congratulations to all my 2011 Senior Models that made my news letter.  This includes Riley, Jessica, Mizan, Katey, Mela, Abigail, Rachel, Tori, Lauren, Kaity, Taja and…… Monique – she has the whole back page (not pictured).  This will have a distributed of 5000 in Ellensburg, Ike and Tri Cities school newspapers. Take a look.

Graduation is right around the corner and I want to say congratulations to all my 2009-2010 photonuvo models.  You did a fantastic job for me this year and I had a lot of fun working with all of you!  I also want to thank all my senior clients that chose photonuvo for their senior portraits. I feel very honored that I got to be a part of your senior year. I hope you all ‘looove’ your pics!

I really enjoy quotes so here’s a few quotes for you graduating seniors.

“Do not go where the path may lead;  go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”  Ralph Waldo Emerson

“You have brains in your head  You have feet in your shoes.  You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.  You’re on your own.  And you know what you know.  You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”  Dr. Seuss     (This is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books)

I’m a big believe in continuing education.  Each year I research and find a couple seminars that I’d like to attend along with one big convention.  I think staying up on the latest trends and new techniques is really important to running a successful photography studio.  This year in January, I attended Senior Portrait Convention in California.  This is one of my favorite conventions because it specializes in Senior Photography and is totally cutting edge.  One of the key note speakers at the convention was Travis Gugleman.  He is a very successful senior portrait photographer in Idaho.  You can check him out here  www.gugelmanphotography.com.  I really appreciated his fresh approach to senior portraits and his studio is located relatively close to me so I signed up to attend one of his seminars last week.  I just got back and I’m so excited to start applying all the cool new techniques I learned. We worked from sun up to sun down averaging about 13 hours a day. We even got to photograph a body builder!  I just love to learn…. especially when it’s related to photography or has anything to do with good looking men…Ha.  I also took my sales and marketing girl, Sara and we had a lot of fun driving even though it was about a ten hour trip!  Check out some of the images that I captured at his workshop.
